‘They’re shrewd operators’ – Lyons and Keane combine for 64-1 acca at Naas ☘️

Colin Keane is arguably the finest jockey in Ireland and Ger Lyons has been one of the top trainers in the Emerald Isle for some time. They’re shrewd operators and have been a lethal combination over the years. The pair are represented by five runners at Naas on Wednesday and we’ve put their four best chances into a 64-1 accumulator. It’s interesting that Apricot Twist (15-8, Paddy Power) makes her debut over 6f. Her sire won his maiden over an extended 6f but went on to be a Group 1 miler and her dam won over 7f and a mile. Lyons tends to do well with Juddmonte horses and hopefully she’s a smart enough filly to win on debut in what isn’t the deepest of maidens.

6.30 Naas

Sacred Bridge (10-3, Paddy Power) was a very smart juvenile last season and won a Group 3 easily over 6f. She also beat a subsequent Group 2 winner in a Listed race over an extended 5f two starts ago. A return to that form would make her the one to beat. Having disappointed in the Commonwealth Cup last time, the significant drop in grade looks sensible and we should see a much stronger performance.

7.00 Naas

Mauiewowie (6-4, William Hill) could hardly have been more impressive on debut when winning over course and distance. That victory came in emphatic fashion and she looks like a smart prospect. Stepping up to Listed level is the next logical step and connections should have a lot of fun with her.

8.00 Naas

Mutasarref (11-10, Paddy Power) has done will since switching to Ger Lyons from Dermot Weld. He has won two handicaps, ran two decent races in major handicaps and gone significantly up in the weights. It was a career best when winning at the Curragh last time and this looks like a good opportunity to return to the winner’s enclosure.
