2.10pm Lingfield tips for Tuesday’s Class 3 race. A field of fourteen goes to post for a 1m 2f handicap at Lingfield on Tuesday. Read on for our free betting tips, predictions and analysis.

IN SUMMARY: Winner of his first two starts before a very good effort in Class 2 company on his latest run, MIDDLE KINGDOM should have too much talent for these. He cost a small fortune and looks a smart horse in the making, still on the same mark as his latest start despite going down by under a length. He also drops in class and shouldn’t be for catching here, with the main danger coming from Fayez. He did well in the face of a tough task in a claimer when last seen and should be much happier back in a handicap.

1 MIDDLE KINGDOM – Cost 775,000gns as a yearling and won his first two races in the style of a very good horse, losing little in defeat on his latest start at Chelmsford. He remains on the same mark and drops in class, so he should take this as there is far more to come.

2 BREX DRAGO – Some useful form in Italy and Meydan but he’s yet to fire since moving to Britain, well held in three runs for Marco Botti. The headgear now goes on in a bid to revive him but a leap of faith is required and others are preferred.

3 BELIEVE IT – Seven wins on the all weather for this five year old who hasn’t been firing on all cylinders of late, well beaten at both Goodwood and Kempton the last twice. A step up to this distance isn’t sure to suit and others are readily preferred as this mark looks beyond him.

4 RED TEA – All four of her wins have come on the turf for Peter Hiatt, with only three runs on the all weather. She does need to better her previous form on this surface but she wasn’t disgraced this venue back in November 2016, so she is an each way contender.

5 VETTORI RULES – Has some very useful form in the book in the context of this race but this four year old has plenty to prove after tailing off on all his runs since April for Gay Kelleway. Current mark is obviously lenient but he has too much to prove on this occasion.

6 CAPE PENINSULAR – Progressive sort for James Tate who once again ran a career best to finish second at Newcastle last time out, only beaten a short-head. He’s now four pounds higher for that though and he’s upped in grade, so the blinkers need to have a positive effect.

7 FIRST FLIGHT – Now eight pounds below his mark when placing at Newmarket back in June but he’s been well beaten on all his runs since, six lengths fourth at Kempton on his latest start. He’s three pounds lower but he’s faced with the widest draw and that should be the final nail in the coffin.

8 FAYEZ – Badly weighted in a Claimer at Newcastle on his latest start but he ran with credit to finish third, despite giving a stone and upwards to all bar one of his rivals. He’s up four pounds in the weights but this should be an easier task for him and he’s an each way contender.

9 COILLTE CAILIN – All seven of her victories have come on the all weather but she arrives here solidly out of form, well beaten at Wolverhampton when last seen. A bounce back is required and despite being on a good mark, she couldn’t be put forward.

10 EMENEM – Mainly progressive for Simon Dow since switching to handicaps, finishing third at Epsom on his latest start in a tough event. He’s just as effective on the all weather and remains unexposed in this sphere, so a bold bid is likely.

11 CELESTIAL SPHERES – Two wins from three starts since the addition of the cheekpieces for this three year old, last seen winning a Class 4 Handicap at Newmarket by a head. He’s still on a good mark despite that victory but his tendency to hang is a concern and Stall 13 is no gift.

12 AY AY – Course winner on debut for David Elsworth and he produced a career best display to lead on the line at Nottingham last month. He’s now two pounds higher in a tougher race but he remains with potential for better and has to be considered.

13 GOTHIC EMPIRE – Makes his debut for the Richard Rowe yard after several disappointing runs when signing off from the James Fanshawe yard. He has his stamina to prove going up to this distance and he doesn’t win very often, so he can be opposed.

14 SIR TITAN – Highly progressive earlier this year, including a Glorious Goodwood second but he’s taken two marked backwards steps the last twice. He weakened tamely when seventeenth at Doncaster on his latest start and although he was progressive prior to those runs, he’s clearly risky now.
