IN SUMMARY: Queens Royale was the original selection here, but as she doesn’t line up, Brother In Arms gets the vote. A repeat effort of his course and distance success back in March should see him bang there in this contest coming out of stall 3. The booking of Jim Crowley is eye-catching and being just 1lb higher than his last winning mark, he can make his presence felt. Zilza has first time blinkers and despite the worst of the draw, she makes plenty of appeal down in grade. Inlawed hasn’t got his head in front yet but the switch to the sand might be the key and he’s worth watching for market support with Jamie Spencer booked.

1 VOTE – Entitled to improve today following her first start of the season at Doncaster earlier this month. She wasn’t disgraced in a better race than this and she races off a 3lb lower mark today which will invariably aide her chances of success. Stall 5 is fine and she’s entitled to produce a bold show today although the yard have been quiet of late with just 4 runners in the past fortnight.

2 GRAND MYLA – Gary Moore’s filly is tried in first-time blinkers today following some comfortable defeats on her last two starts. She was beaten 8 lengths in a Class 5 handicap last time out and the drop in grade will certainly help this Dark Angel filly. She raced in a Listed event at Newbury back in August which highlights what connections think of her and she could be better than these. The yard are out of form though with just one winner from their last 27 runners.

3 RAPID RISE – Makes his second start for the Milton Bradley stable today following a moderate effort on stable debut. He finished fifth of 8, beaten 6 1/4 lengths at Wolverhampton and whilst this is a step down in grade, a mark of 64 still doesn’t look to give him a huge amount in hand. Stall 11 is a tough draw and this 9-race maiden may be worth opposing again.

4 ZILZA – Conrad Allen’s filly has been handed the worst draw in stall 12 today and she looks really against it in this. She’s a maiden from 10 starts and she’s been beaten a fair way on her last two starts although they came in better races than this. A mark of 64 looks fair on the All-Weather and Martin Dwyer is an interesting booking. First-time blinkers are applied today and she’s worth market attention.

5 INLAWED – 9-race maiden who was beaten 6 lengths in a Class 6 maiden at Yarmouth last time out. His form needs considerable improvement over sprint trips and he’s not been able to reproduce his placed effort at Windsor earlier this season. The switch to the All-Weather is interesting and may help so he’s another runner worth a second look in the betting. Jamie Spencer remains in the saddle.

6 WHO TOLD JO JO – Has steadily dropped through the weights this season and he’s now 3lbs lower than his last winning mark which came at Windsor back in April. He’s yet to win over further than the minimum trip and he’s yet to produce the same level of form on the All-Weather as he has on the turf. Stall 2 is fine and Oisin Murphy remains in the saddle so he could go well off this fresh career low mark. He is relatively exposed though, making his 17th career start today.

7 BROTHER IN ARMS – C&D winner earlier this season off a one pound lower mark. Jim Crowley takes over in the saddle today which is eye-catching and a repeat of his effort earlier this season would surely see him go close. However, he has been below par on the turf most recently and he needs to prove he’s capable of improving again back on Polytrack.

8 CANDIAN ROYAL – Was well-supported in a Class 5 event at Leicester last month (2/1 favourite) but he couldn’t justify the weight of money, finishing a well-beaten sixth of 7. He produced a moderate effort at Yarmouth next time out and there could be more to come now switched to the All-Weather off what could be a nice mark. The yard have been struggling for form which is a concern given they’re without a winner from their last 18 runners but market support would still make him of interest.

9 SEE YOU MUSH – Hasn’t been beaten all that far in low-grade handicaps this summer having broken his maiden tag on his first start for the yard. He should be thereabouts today if he handles the Kempton surface as well as Chelmsford although stall 9 will make life slightly tougher. A career high mark of 59 clearly asks questions of him and others make a bit more appeal.

11 SILVER PENNY – Sole success came in a Windsor maiden at the end of last season and she’s not progressed this year. She was beaten 4 1/4 lengths last time out over C&D and she races off the same mark today but she needs to do more to convince she’s ready to score in handicaps. She’s a full 17lbs lower than her first handicap mark but others still make more appeal on these terms.

Non Runners

10 QUEENS ROYALE – Mick Appleby’s filly is tried in first-time cheekpieces today following a good effort in a Class 5 handicap at Thirsk last time out. She was only beaten 1 1/2 lengths off this mark over 7 furlongs and this step back in trip should suit both on pedigree and her runs to date. Robert Winston is an eye-catching booking and she’s been handed an excellent draw in stall 1. She commands plenty of respect in this.

12 STOPDWORLDNLETMEOF – Has made the pace before and tactics will be interesting on David Flood’s gelding. His best performance came from the front over 5 furlongs at Chepstow in a first-time visor but headgear is left off today and 6 furlongs doesn’t appear to be his ultimate trip. The yard have been quiet of late and he’s best watched off bottom weight today.
