12.30pm Southwell Tips & Betting Preview 21/11/2017

12.30pm Southwell tips for Tuesday’s Class 4 race. The action at Southwell on Tuesday kicks off with a 2m 4f Handicap Chase, with a field of seven going to post. Read on for our free betting tips, predictions and analysis.

IN SUMMARY: Pretty Reckless completed a double when winning at Market Rasen on her latest start, but that wasn’t a great race and a five pound rise may just find her out now she’s up in class. Preference is for MONDO CANE, who is returning from seventeen months off the track but has some useful chasing form in the book. He placed off today’s mark three starts ago and if fully revved up after this absence, he should prove tough to handle.

1 CAPTIAN MOWBRAY – Twenty race maiden for Rebecca Menzies who is a very frustrating horse to follow, running a career best on his latest start to finish second at Sedgefield. He’s now three pounds higher but this race isn’t a strong one and he’s a solid each way candidate with the cheekpieces now on.

2 MONDO CANE – Hasn’t been seen since early 2016 where he pulled up over both fences and hurdles, returning from a 532 day absence today. He is very interesting though as his current mark is lenient (placed off this mark three starts ago) and a winning reappearance should be on the cards.

3 MANWELL – Didn’t hang around over hurdles and was given a very tough task behind a useful sort when second at this venue on his latest start. He now switches to handicaps off a handy mark and with far more to come from him in this sphere, he has to be respected.

4 CHASMA – Arrives here on the back of a win at Sedgefield in March, winning by two lengths and as a result, he’s been raised eight pounds. That rise certainly looks harsh and although he can go well fresh, he looks vulnerable off this mark on seasonal debut.

5 PRETTY RECKLESS – Arrives on a hat-trick for Dan Skelton, keeping on well to win at Market Rasen two weeks ago. She’s now five pounds higher in a tougher race and although she is clearly progressive over fences, she should find at least one too good here.

6 GLOBAL DOMINATION – Another who arrives on a hat-trick, but this nine year olds case is far more complicated. He hasn’t been seen since January 2016, winning a very weak Novices’ Chase. He returns off a comparable mark but he’s entitled to need this and he’s passed over today.

7 THE JUGOPOLIST – Ten year old who doesn’t win very often and at this stage of his career he’s very hit or miss. He was well beaten in a similar event at Huntingdon on his latest start, weakening out of things tamely and he’s readily passed over back up in distance.
