‘You won’t go far wrong following the yard this week’ – Trainer to follow at Epsom

The final declarations have landed for Epsom’s first day on Friday, Ladies Day which features a pair of Group 1 races in the shape of the Betfred Oaks and the Coronation Cup. You will be able to find all of our free horse racing tips for the week on the website! Moving on, and there’s certainly a yard that could be worth following on the Downs this week!

Why you should follow the Gosdens this week

John & Thady Gosden had a brilliant year on the Downs last year, winning five times at the track from just 10 runners saddled, and the team could be set for a stellar week again this year.

In the Coronation Cup, Emily Upjohn is a very warm favourite to see off her four rivals and it would be disappointing if she failed to deliver on Friday. Winner of this race last year, she has a real liking for the track and she was given a nice prep for the contest when a respectable fifth in the Dubai Sheema Classic at Meydan in March.

Moving on to Saturday, where the Gosdens have another big contender in the Group 3 Princess Elizabeth Stakes courtesy of Running Lion. Four times a winner in her career, she failed to land a blow in Group 1 company last year but she chased home Stay Alert in a Group 2 at Newmarket on her return and this could be easier.

Other’s worth a mention are Epictetus who might run in the Group 3 Diomed Stakes on Saturday, while God’s Window is a big outsider for the Betfred Derby but looks right up against it.
