Irish trainer Paul Flynn will make the lengthy journey to Ffos Las in Wales for the very first time with three horses from his base in Ballymahon in County Longford. It’s a fair trek to go so connections must be hopeful of a good day. Let’s take a look at the chances of the three runners below.
Jurality is a low-grade maiden after 13 starts but perhaps now tackling a classified stakes contest, he might have a better chance. The four-year-old son of Masar has been running well in low-grade handicaps of late and arrives here on the back of a good fourth in a 1m1f handicap at Leopardstown on soft ground 18 days ago. Everything looks set for a big run and the booking of David Probert can only be a positive.
Next up for the Flynn team is Forlio, who will take his chance in the 1m4f handicap, again with Probert aboard. A repeat of his March sixth of 17 over 1m2f in a better race than this at Fairyhouse brings him right into the equation and the form of that race has received a boost. Granted, he was well below his best there last time but a British mark of 55 looks very lenient if he can put his best foot forward.
Richard Kingscote will ride the last Flynn runner, Serotonin, in the 2m handicap. This gelding has been fairly well beaten in the majority of his 10 outings to date and comes with big risks attached, but he’s not with the yard that long and perhaps he can run a better race here from a decent mark.
