Willie Mullins sends one runner to Bangor on Wednesday and she’s 12/1

Willie Mullins is the reigning champion in Britain and he’s set to send one runner over the Irish Sea on Wednesday. His only previous runner at Bangor was a winner so he’ll be attempting to defend an unbeaten record at the Welsh track. Below we take a look at the horse’s chances and we believe our Nap of the day can get the better of Mullins’ mare. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.

12.55 Bangor

Space Tourist has been on the go since July and her record over fences is reasonably solid. Clearly needing the run when fifth behind Monbeg Park at Wexford, she was a game winner over 2m6f at Tramore after that.

Mullins’ seven-year-old found only Jazzy Matty too good when second in a chase at Sligo last month and she jumped to her left that day. She would have lost significant ground by doing the same when second to Shecouldbeanything at Clonmel next time and should be suited by this left-handed track.

Connections would have hoped that this race attracted a less competitive field and it should be a cracker. The likes of Shecouldbeanything, Casa No Mento, West Balboa and You Wear It Well provide some stiff competition but it’s unwise to totally rule out a Willie Mullins runner.

Nap of the Day

You Wear It Well was a cosy winner of the 2023 Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival and she’s adaptable with regards to trip. Jamie Snowden’s mare comfortably got the better of Champion Hurdle third Luccia at Wetherby last term and her first time out record is excellent. Improvement can’t be ruled out over fences.
