Willie Mullins and Ryan Moore combine on Day 1 of Royal Ascot with 7-1 double 😲

Willie Mullins is an all-time great and he’s made a flying start to the season with his jumpers. He takes aim at some of Flat racing’s major prizes on Tuesday. It’s Day 1 of Royal Ascot and he has two very well-supported chances. Ryan Moore is probably the finest Flat jockey in the game at the moment and he is booked to ride both. The pair have had success at Royal Ascot in the past and you can get around 7-1 for the double. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.

5.00 Ascot

Bring On The Night (2-1, William Hill) has a monster absence to overcome, as he hasn’t been seen since finishing second to Coltrane in this race last year. There’s no shame in losing out to a horse of that calibre and it seems to be an easier race this year. The handicapper put him up 4lb for that effort but he’s incredibly lightly raced and should remain unexposed.

A guaranteed stayer, the trainer and jockey combination would be enough to propel him to the head of the market but he deserves to be there on merit. A huge run could be on the cards and it would be no surprise to see him go one better this time.

6.10 Ascot

Vauban (7-4, William Hill) was an excellent juvenile hurdler and won the Triumph Hurdle in good style last year. He acquitted himself well as a five-year-old in open Grade 1 company last season, finishing second to stablemate State Man at Leopardstown and Punchestown.

This sort of trip should suit on the Flat and he won twice in France before joining Willie Mullins. This includes a Listed win over 1m4f at Vichy. The handicapper has given him a mark of 101 which seems steep enough on handicap debut but he has plenty of potential in this sphere.
