William Haggas is enjoying himself at Windsor so far this season and the Newmarket trainer has a 50 per cent record at the Berkshire track. Two of his four runners have won so far this season and he’s set to send a further three there on Monday. His strike-rate would suggest he should be having at least one winner on the day so we’ve combined his two best chances into a 19-1 double. In The Giving (3-1, bet365) lost her action when beaten by a massive 73 lengths at Leicester last time out. That goes someway to explaining the extremely below-par effort and the heavy ground also wouldn’t have helped. She was a comfortable winner when trained in Ireland off a mark of 60 and that would suggest she should be capable of winning a race of this stature.
The return to a faster surface should suit and we should see a much better performance this time around. Her runs at Kempton and Southwell in March and April were much more like it and if she can return to that level of form, would have every chance of returning to the winners’ enclosure.
Bugle Beads (4-1, bet365) is a Cheveley Park homebred and her pedigree suggests she should have plenty of ability. Her dam finished second in a Group 3 as a juvenile, which bodes well for Bugle Beads’ chances of winning at two. William Haggas has had a couple of juvenile winners already from just 10 runners and he could increase that tally with another one here.
