‘When the JP money is down, the bookies run scared’ 😱 – McManus gamble unfolding

JP McManus

Our resident horse racing expert Adrian Wall has always been an avid market watcher. He has spotted a pretty large ongoing gamble taking place in the 12.30pm at Fairyhouse today. Don’t miss out on our posts on Twitter @myracingtips where you can message us directly and have your say. Our free horse racing tips are also available every single day and we have been in terrific form of late. Let’s take a closer look at this big gamble in more detail below.

12.30 Fairyhouse

JP McManus is arguably the most feared punter of all time. Well, he is up there anyway, that’s for sure. McManus likes to back his own horses and has made no secret about that. He has done so for his entire adult life. He pumps huge amount of money into the sport so nobody could begrudge him a winner or two!

It has to be very interesting that one of his runners at Fairyhouse today has been very well backed this morning. I have gone through every race of the day in Britain and Ireland, but it seems that this is the only horse of his that is well backed today, so far. The runner in question is called Fighting Fit and runs in the 12.30pm, a competitive handicap chase.

Fighting Fit is trained by the Dempsey’s and has been backed from 12-1 into 5-1 in places. The top price at the time of writing this article is 7-1 with bet365, but I have no idea how long that will last. This horse has been beaten a total of 142 lengths in his last three starts but is now back in a handicap carrying just 10-4. If the handbrake is off, he will probably win!

It is also worth keeping an eye on McManus’ other runner in the field, Weihnachts, who has shortened a tad. When the JP money is down, the bookies run scared.
