Wednesday racing: Skelton’s 83% Huntingdon strike-rate and Patrick Mullins’ one ride

Dan Skelton has five winners from six runners at Huntingdon so far this season and that bodes well for his sole representative at the track on Wednesday. Patrick Mullins heads over to Huntingdon for one ride aboard a Henrietta Knight runner and heavy ground horses are set to thrive at Nottingham. Dan’s the man at Huntingdon

Dan Skelton is on fire at the moment and there’s a good chance he can add another winner to his tally at Huntingdon, if his course strike-rate is anything to go by. With five runners from six runners so far this season, a strike-rate of 83 per cent is certainly impressive.

Krak was a winner over hurdles for Stuart Crawford back in April 2025 and he has since switched yards twice. He was a very respectable second off this very mark in a Bangor novice handicap chase last month and a reproduction of that form would give him every chance of coming out on top here.

Patrick Mullins rides at Huntingdon

Patrick Mullins makes the long trip to Huntingdon on Wednesday and his only ride will be on board the Henrietta Knight-trained Jimmyjeroo in the opening amateur riders’ race. The eight-year-old managed to win over fences at Hereford last term and is currently on just a 4lb higher mark.

Heavy ground horses at Nottingham

Centigrade is unbeaten in two starts on heavy ground and was particularly impressive when winning a two-year-old novice by five-and-a-half lengths a couple of years ago. He managed to win a heavy ground handicap at Haydock off a three-figure mark last time out and should fare well here on that evidence.

Maxident has two wins and two seconds to his name in four previous starts on heavy ground and there’s no chance of him getting stuck in the mud. It was a good effort when second off this mark over 2m2f at Pontefract last time out and the drop back in trip won’t be a problem.
