Adrian Wall knows how to spot a big priced winner and is back with four tasty selections for Tuesday’s racing action at Wolverhampton Racecourse. The four horses could return a big amount with William Hill for a £0.50p each-way unit stake on a Lucky 15. However, four places is the aim and would be a lovely return and be sure to check the bookmaker’s maximum payout rules if needed to adjust stakes.
Godolphin hold all the aces here with three runners but Perseus Way could be the one to come out on top. The son of Sea The Stars won with a bit in hand at Leicester on debut last month on heavy ground. He was very weak in the betting at Newmarket next time out so clearly wasn’t fancied, and ran accordingly as he was very slowly into stride. Big player on all-weather debut in first time cheekpieces.
Navello has found a very nice opportunity here and it will be the easiest race he has had for a long time dropping down in grade. The top weight landed a gamble over track and trip on his second career start and was far from disgraced in group class at Royal Ascot in the summer. He bounced back from a gelding operation to finish second at Chester in September and he looks extremely well treated now.
Knockabout Queen doesn’t find winning easy but the former course winner should appreciate a return to this track. She was well beaten off at Lingfield in a 0-65 this month but now drops into a 0-55 from 2lb lower, has a decent draw in five and won here from 9lb higher last year.
Lorna Cole has made little impression in her last few starts but has fallen from a mark of 61 down to 49 on the all-weather since June so the handicapper has given her a huge chance providing she can find something close to her best. The last time she was at this track back in March she won a claimer and in February she was second here off 15lb higher.
