Trainer with brilliant record at Worcester this year could land tasty double on Thursday

Scrupuleux beats Dark Invander by a short head in the 2m Novice Handicap Chase Worcester 11/6/18

We might be in the middle of the Flat season but that does not mean that we have no Jumps racing to look forward to. Worcester Racecourse play host to a nice card on Thursday evening and don’t forget to check out our tips on the website.

I was sifting through all of the course statistics this morning to try to find a nice betting angle. Then I spotted Oliver Greenall’s record at the course in 2021, which is impressive to say the least.

Greenall has sent out 10 runners at the track this year and four of them have won. That is a very healthy 40 per cent return and he sends two runners to the course on Thursday. Both have very solid chances and they form a tasty double.

Dino Velvet took advantage of a race that fell apart at Uttoxeter nine days ago and looks well worth taking on. The one that could beat him is the Greenall-trained El Borracho, a dual winner over hurdles. He won over course and distance in June and the runner-up franked the form, winning by nine lengths next time out. Massive player and is only 4lb higher now.

Hats Off To Larry travelled powerfully into the race when third at Uttoxeter last month and he is the model of consistency. Running from the same mark, he has to be of serious interest even if this is a tougher handicap and a step up in class. The seven-year-old will carry bottom weight and that could make all the difference if he comes there swinging off the bridle again.
