Trainer with awesome record in Fontwell race takes aim again with 5-1 shot 🎯

Gary Moore has an exceptional record in the opening race on the card at Fontwell on Tuesday. It’s a juvenile hurdle, an age group with which Moore excels with. He has won four of the last seven renewals of this race, giving him a 57 per cent strike-rate. Moore has had a couple of juvenile winners in the last fortnight and will be looking to add to his tally here. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.

Aviles (5-1, bet365) has had two career starts to date. The first of those came in France for David Cottin and he finished fourth at Bordeaux Le Bouscat back in April and it was a fair effort. He made his debut for Gary Moore in Britain over course and distance last month, finishing second to an impressive hurdling debutant by 10 lengths. There are plenty of positives to take from that effort as he was six-and-a-half lengths clear of the third who had previously been a comfortable winner.

It would be reasonable to expect some improvement here as that was his first start for 226 days and his debut on British soil. That race would have been a massive learning experience for the horse and he should be much more streetwise this time around.

Gary Moore is a dual-purpose trainer which could help to explain why he’s such a good trainer of juvenile hurdlers. He’s in fair form lately with a 27 per cent strike-rate in the last fortnight and had a double at Huntingdon on Sunday. You certainly wouldn’t want to rule out the possibility of this horse boosting that strike-rate by winning here.
