Trainer with a 50% strike-rate at Ffos Las this season runs one on Thursday

Ffos Las has been a happy hunting ground for Jamie Snowden so far this season, having had four winners and two seconds in just eight runners at the Welsh track. That gives him a strike-rate of 50 per cent, which is more than healthy!

6.15 Ffos Las

Jackstell could only manage a couple of third-place finishes in two point-to-point starts but it was a different story when making his rules debut for Emmet Mullins back in May. Going off the 5/4 favourite, he showed a willing attitude to come out on top by a short head in a Tipperary bumper over 2m2f.

He then joined Jamie Snowden and was unfortunate to bump into a Grade 2 bumper winner when second on his first start over hurdles at Huntingdon in November. The son of No Risk At All had no chance with the winner, Horaces Pearl, but did manage to finish well ahead of the third.

Snowden’s gelding struggled when upped to an extended 2m3f on softer ground at Lingfield next time, and connections subsequently opted to give him wind surgery. It was a better display when second on good ground at Ascot last time out and that form probably makes him the one to beat.

Dropping back to two miles is unlikely to be an issue for the six-year-old and this looks like an excellent opportunity to get off the mark over hurdles.
