Craig Lidster has been very selective with his runners at Pontefract so far this season. The Yorkshire-based trainer has had just three runners at the track so far this season. Rather impressively, he has come away with two winners and this gives him an excellent strike-rate.
Lidster is set to send just one runner to Pontefract for their meeting on Monday afternoon. It’s certainly worth noting when a trainer has a strike-rate as high as 67 per cent and his runner could be worth looking out for. Masque Of Anarchy hasn’t been out of the winners’ enclosure for too long, having scored over course and distance back in May. He was well in command by the end of the race that day and won more easily than the winning margin suggests. That victory was his sole start at the track, which means he’s defending a 100 per cent record here at Pontefract.
Olive Nicholls, daughter of champion Jumps trainer Paul Nicholls, takes the ride and it’s just her second under this code. Claiming 3lb here, she has ridden a total of six winners over Jumps. Two below-par efforts followed his course and distance victory and his mark has fallen to 70, just 1lb higher than when last winning.
A return to form could well be on the cards here as his best form indicates that he’s well-treated. There are plenty of reasons to be positive about this horse’s chances and it would be no surprise if he was to make it three out of four for his trainer here at Pontefract this season.
