Sir Mark Prescott tends to come to life in the summer months and he is a canny operator. The Newmarket-based trainer has a very healthy 47 per cent return at Lingfield Park Racecourse this year. With that in mind, it is highly interesting that he will send just one runner to the track on Tuesday. Prescott does particularly well with his staying types so if you see a young horse of his running from 1m4f upwards, they are usually worth following as their career progresses. Let us take a look at the horse in more detail below.
The Prescott horse in question will run in the opening race on the card. The ‘Racing League On Sky Sports Racing Handicap’ is a Class 6 race and will be run over a distance of 1m4f. A daughter of Bobby’s Kitten, Alambrista is a three-year-old filly and could take some beating in this race off top weight.
Alambrista has yet succeeded in finding the winners’ enclosure from seven career starts but her turn might not be far away. She was sent off favourite at Bath last week but didn’t show her best in what turned out to be a tactical affair. This equally is a small field but Ryan Tate might try to make it more of a test to draw the stamina out of her more this time around.
Connections will put first-time blinkers on the filly and they could make a big difference to her concentration levels. Her mark is unchanged and if she could repeat her penultimate Bath run where she finished a solid third off 1lb higher, one would think that could well be enough to take this race for all she is not one to place maximum faith in.
