Trainer with 33% Carlisle hurdles strike-rate sends one across the Irish Sea ⛴️

Stuart Crawford has long been a name to look out for at northern National Hunt cards. He is 11/41 at Carlisle in the last five seasons overall but 6/18 with runners over hurdles. Crawford sends a single runner over for the Sunday card, a hurdler at a double figure price.

The big meeting on Sunday is Fairyhouse which sees Honeysuckle look for a Hatton’s Grace hat-trick while Leicester are also in action over jumps. We have horse racing tips from all three tracks on a day where Cheltenham Festival clues will be abundant.

Homme D’un Soir is the runner in question for Crawford. He has had just the one start for the yard, shaping as if badly in need of the return to action at Down Royal. He was only sent off at 7/1 in a deeper contest than this, beating a retreat a long way from home.

A decent novice hurdler for Denise Foster, his new yard step him up from two miles to three for this next assignment. There was little encouragement from his return but the fact that his yard bring him over has to make that an interesting move given their record and that he travels alone.

Placed over two and a half in the past, this is the further that he has gone in his career. On pedigree it is not sure to suit but he kept plugging away when behind Cape Gentleman over that trip and that horse has run to an RPR of 152 over fences so Crawford’s charge is more than capable from this mark if his stamina holds.
