Adrian Wall, our resident stat hunter is back with another cracking statistic for Saturday’s racing. Make sure you check out our ITV Racing tips for Saturday – we really do put a lot of time and research into our selections. Moving on…..

Big Nige

Nigel Twiston-Davies operated at an extremely healthy 31-per-cent strike rate around Ascot racecourse last season. He is a big day trainer and he knows how to get the job done on a Saturday.

Running in the 3pm at Ascot on Saturday, he runs Good Boy Bobby in the bet365 handicap chase. This is an ultra competitive lineup with a prize pool of over £32,000 on offer.

Running in the famous colours of Simon Munir & Isaac Souede, the in form Daryl Jacob will take the ride. This is an eight-year-old Flemensfirth gelding who has contested Grade One company in the past.

When last seen, he was very well backed all week for the Caspian Caviar Gold Cup at Cheltenham. It’s a ferociously competitive Grade Three handicap and was won by the Irish raider, Chatham Street Lad.

Good Boy Bobby ran well in 4th and was unlucky not to be a bit closer. Held up in rear, he made a bad mistake at the first and got badly impeded at the 13th fence when making ground. He plugged on into 4th from there.

This race is without doubt much easier and the step up to 2m 5f won’t pose any problems. He chased home Master Tommytucker at Haydock and that horse won a Grade Two by 12 lengths since.

Without question, he is better than his current rating of 144 so he just needs that bit of luck in running now. If everything goes his way, he is the horse that they all have to beat.
