Trainer travels 600-mile round trip to Fakenham with 22-1 shot

Razzle Dazzle 'Em leads the field in the 2m novice hurdle at Fakenham, 19/2/16

Iain Jardine is based in Dumfries all the way up north in Scotland. It has to be hugely interesting that he travels all the way south to Fakenham with just one horse on Thursday.

The total journey is a round trip of roughly 600 miles. Considering the race is worth £3,899 in total, they would want to be winning it just to cover the costs to get down there!

This will be Iain’s first ever runner at Fakenham too – considering he has a license for 12 years, that’s also interesting. Let’s move on now and take a look at the runner in question.

Gamble on the cards?

Running in the 3.35pm at Fakenham, CAMILE opened up 22-1 with William Hill opening show. The fact the yard are travelling with a wide outsider is interesting, especially with the ground coming in her favour.

She travelled to Southwell a year ago and landed one of the biggest gamble’s of the year. Punted from 18-1 all the way into 6-4 favourite on that occasion, she went on to score by a whopping 20 lengths.

This will be the first time that she will run in the south of the country since then. Now five pounds higher in the weights, Niall Houlihan has been booked to ride her and he is a very capable five pound claimer.

She ran three times on the Flat and three times over hurdles since last tasting success. The ground possibly wasn’t soft enough for her on her most recent outings but there has been plenty of rain at Fakenham this week.

A lot of boxes are being ticked – she loves the ground, landed a huge gamble in the south last year and is essentially off the same mark. Iain wouldn’t travel this far south just for the fun of it so don’t be shocked if you see a huge gamble on this lady tomorrow.
