It’s a quieter day of action on Sunday, with just the three meetings on the docket. Listowel, Hamilton and Plumpton are the venues in question and we’ll have horse racing tips for all three.
It could be a big day for Wiltshire-based trainer Richard Hannon, who sends two Sunday runners to Hamilton. That’s an enormous 772-mile round trip, but Hannon doesn’t travel there without good reason.
In the past five seasons, Hannon has sent four horses to Hamilton, with two returning to the winner’s enclosure. A £7.75 level stakes profit is a healthy return and the double pays 9-1 at the time of writing, which has to be worth a look.
His first runner is Sharvara, a son of Kingman who cost £100,000 as a two-year-old purchase. He comes from a fascinating family that includes Canford Cliffs and after a promising debut, he took another big step forward when third at Thirsk last time.
He looked set to be well-held when he was outpaced two furlongs from home, but he stuck to his task and was gaining ground in the closing stages. Stepping up to the mile is an obvious positive to his chances and there doesn’t appear to be any world beaters in his way on this occasion.
If he does take another step forward, he’s entitled to be going very close.
He’s been below his best of late, but Lexington Force is the clear pick on these terms. He’s five pounds clear on ratings and having been rated 85 earlier in the year, he should have too much class for this field.
As previously mentioned, his recent starts have been well below his best, but he wasn’t beaten far in a Class 4 handicap at Ascot back in July. That is far and away the best form on offer and Ben Curtis, who is riding out of his skin at present, takes the ride.
There’s a little element of trust involved, but if he turns up anywhere near his best, he won’t be for catching in this.
