Thursday Outsider Tips – ‘Booking Hollie Doyle is a real statement of intent’ 👊👊

We have plenty of meetings to get stuck into on Thursday afternoon and evening across Britain and Ireland. We have plenty of decent fields so Thursday could be ripe for a few upsets.

Adrian Wall is back with his weekly feast of outsiders and he has picked out three horses who he feels should outrun their odds. Best of luck if you have a play and remember, always bet responsibly, this is meant to be a bit of fun.

3.30 Haydock

Ugo Gregory (11/1) raced very keenly and used up far too much energy when finished 12th of 16 at York earlier in the month. However, he is a much better horse than that and if he can settle, he is very well treated here. Rated 84 in November, he has slid down the weights and will race off just 76 and this is also a drop down in class. If he gets to the lead, he could be a tough nut to crack.

8.40 Newbury

Rossa Ryan is one of the best riders in Britain at present, and his mount Ae Fond Kiss (22/1) looks too big a price here. The filly ran a much better race than her finishing position of seventh would suggest when down the field at Bath when last seen, only beaten about four lengths for a finish. If she can build on that, she can hit the frame.

8.50 Epsom

Eagles Dare (12/1) has not won a race since October 2020 and isn’t screaming out as a winner in waiting. However, the fact connections have booked Hollie Doyle for the ride is a real statement of intent. This is the first time that she has been booked to ride the horse, who will have a visor applied for the very first time too. It would be no surprise to see a big run from this horse from a basement mark.
