Thursday ITV Outsiders: Liam can’t believe the price of Aidan O’Brien’s runner 📺

Thursday is Dante Stakes day and ITV are broadcasting five races from York and the Byerley Stud Handicap at Salisbury. There’s some high quality and competitive action to enjoy including the most prestigious Derby trial. We’re back with three more outsiders who should outrun their big prices. Check out our free tips page for content across all British and Irish racing.

1.50 York

Ready Freddie Go (20-1, bet365) Improved significantly for his seasonal reappearance when winning at Thirsk last time out. Hopefully he can progress as a four-year-old and he will have to off this new career-high mark. He’ll have to prove he can do it away from Thirsk but that has seemingly been factored into his price and there could be more to come. This current price looks mad on the evidence of his win last time out.

3.00 York

Lion Tower (12-1, William Hill) is entitled to improve for his seasonal reappearance at Thirsk last time out. Having only been beaten by less than two lengths into fifth, any amount of improvement could be enough to bring him into the reckoning. The handicapper has left him alone for that effort and there’s every reason to expect a good run here.

3.35 York

Bluegrass (6-1, William Hill) looks like fantastic value as Aidan O’Brien has been mopping up the Derby trials lately and it would consequently be dangerous to rule this colt out. He finished fourth in the Ballysax Stakes on seasonal debut. O’Brien’s three-year-olds have been improving significantly on their second runs with Star Of India and United Nations being excellent examples of this. A vastly improved performance can be expected of this horse and he should prove to be a useful sort. He was available at 8-1 on Tuesday evening and his price is starting to collapse.
