Three Wolverhampton and Newcastle specialists to look out for on Friday 🔎

Course form is always a big factor to consider when trying to pick a winner. Although there are never any guarantees, horses with excellent form at a specific track will have a slight advantage. With this in mind, we’ve picked out three runners on Friday with proven records at Wolverhampton and Newcastle that should go under close consideration. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.

1.40 Wolverhampton

Lexington Knight is a three-time course winner who has also placed a further four times in his 10 starts at the track. His most recent Wolverhampton win came off this very mark back in September. He should be bang in the mix on that evidence and the only remaining question mark is the trip. It has to be said that his most recent effort was very underwhelming but he could be worth an each-way play at a big price.

2.15 Wolverhampton

Follow Your Heart absolutely loves it here at Wolverhampton and has four wins and three seconds to his name, in only nine starts at the track. Mark Loughnane’s six-year-old also ran a cracker off this mark when a close fourth in a better race at Southwell last time out. With that in mind, he’s unlikely to be far away, upon returning to his favourite course.

3.45 Newcastle

Cusack has been remarkably consistent of late and deserves to get his head in front again for the first time since October. David Thompson’s gelding has won four times here at Newcastle and has only failed to finish in the first three five times in sixteen starts. The stats suggest he should run another big race, especially as he’s currently rated just 1lb higher than when beaten by a neck over course and distance in November.
