It’s a competitive day of racing on Monday, with meetings across Britain and Ireland. Ayr, Ripon and Windsor are all on the docket, with Cork and Naas joining them across the water. We’ll have horse racing tips on the website, including a NAP of the Day. Windsor is a notoriously tough venue to get home in when the ground is heavy. You need a horse proven in the conditions to be successful and we’ve found three horses who fit that profile on Monday. The details can be found below.
The Jack Channon trained Sera Dawn strikes me as a likely winner in the opening handicap. A proven winner on heavy ground, she will love these conditions and George Bass takes off a valuable 3lb in the saddle. A claimer has won this race in four of the last five years and he is the only claimer in the race so a lot of boxes are ticked.
Sterling Knight is turned out quickly after a disappointing run in the Stewards’ Cup at Goodwood on Saturday. He was looked after as soon as his chance was gone and he is another who will relish the mud flying being a former winner on heavy ground. This is an easier assignment than his weekend task and he could be a spot of value.
The only heavy ground winner in the finale is the bottom weight Lawn Ranger, who also happens to be a course and distance winner. He ran much better than the bare result when seventh of 14 at Sandown lately and will find this a lot easier.
