Three horses who will love heavy ground at Fairyhouse on Wednesday

It’s a competitive day of racing on Wednesday, with meetings across Britain and Ireland. Catterick, Chepstow, Lingfield and Kempton are all on the docket, with Fairyhouse joining them across the water. We’ll have horse racing tips on the website, including a NAP of the Day. Fairyhouse is a notoriously tough venue to get home in when the ground is heavy. 12.30 Fairyhouse

The opening beginners chase looks quite competitive and Philip Rothwell’s Marelly could open a price that’s far too big. Twice a winner in the mud already over hurdles, he was last seen finishing midfield at Galway in handicap company in October, and he looks the type who might do well over a fence now.

1.00 Fairyhouse

Onto the second race on the card which is a competitive 2m5f handicap chase, and Dancing Jeremy will certainly handle conditions having had plenty of good form in the mud. He only found a heavily gambled horse too good at Punchestown on New Year’s Eve but this looks like a good opportunity to make amends.

1.35 Fairyhouse

Gordon Elliott’s Binge Worthy really improved for the switch to heavy ground on his second career start when winning a maiden hurdle in style at Limerick over the Christmas period, and he gets the nod. The step up in trip is bound to unlock further improvement and he can get the better of the likely favourite Spread Boss Ted who hails from the powerful Willie Mullins camp.
