This monster 764/1 treble can get Aidan O’Brien off to a flyer at Royal Ascot

Aidan O’Brien is the reigning champion trainer on both sides of the Irish Sea and his dominance could continue at Royal Ascot. He is the Royal meeting’s all-time leading trainer with 91 wins and will be chasing down 100.

The master of Ballydoyle will have a strong hand to play on Day 1 so we’ve combined his best Tuesday chances into a treble. Take a look at our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.

Queen Anne Stakes

Diego Velazquez (16/1, boylesports) showed a significant amount of promise as a juvenile and progressed through the season as a three-year-old last season. It’s not ideal that he lines up here without a prep run but the four-year-old has a live each-way chance, provided he’s forward enough for this. His form last season suggests he’s ready for the return to Group 1 level and Ryan Moore will be on board.

Coventry Stakes

Warsaw (8/1, boylesports) is probably the most likely Ballydoyle contender, as stablemate Charles Darwin has been earmarked for the Norfolk. This colt was an impressive winner over 5f on debut, seeing out the trip very well, and the step up to 6f is likely to facilitate a significant amount of improvement.

St James’s Palace Stakes

Henri Matisse (4/1, boylesports) won the Poule d’Essai des Poulains and has a great chance to follow up here. Stablemate Camille Pissarro was third behind him at Longchamp and has boosted the form by winning the Prix du Jockey Club. A fast run mile should suit him, as he needs to be delivered as late as possible, and the son of Wootton Bassett is entitled to go close.
