This horse is 5/12 at Kempton for a £42.37 profit and runs there on Wednesday!

Kempton Racecourse

Horse racing welcomes back spectators on Wednesday! There are five meetings on a packed day of action, with Haydock, Ludlow, Lingfield and Kempton opening their doors for up to 2000 spectators.

Horses for courses is a well known turn of phrase in horse racing. Certain horses will only perform at specific venues. This can be down to a number of factors, including the make up of the track and surface.

That is certainly the case for one horse running at Kempton on Wednesday! He loves the All-Weather venue and has amassed both a healthy strike-rate and level stakes profit there. Find out all of the details about this mystery horse below!

In The Green!

Despite what his name suggests, if you backed him blind at Kempton, you certainly wouldn’t be In The Red. Martin Smith’s charge has an excellent record at the Surrey venue, with five wins from twelve starts. If you had backed all of his runs, you’d be in profit of £42.37 to level stakes!

He gained his most recent success at the venue four starts ago, scoring over seven furlongs back in September. He’s been well-held in three subsequent starts, latterly when down the field at Chelmsford.

Falling down the weights as a result, he was a winner at Kempton off a mark of 72 back in 2019. He competes off 70 today, so this rating shouldn’t be beyond him. Jacob Clark also retains the ride and he takes a very useful seven pounds off his back.

Martin Smith’s string is in great form too, with two of his last four horses returning to the winner’s enclosure. That included a winner at Lingfield in these colours two weeks ago.

Returning to Kempton can bring out the best of this seven-year-old and despite his disappointing recent efforts, he demands a huge amount of respect back at his beloved venue.
