‘This could be his year’ – 20-1, 14-1 and 14-1 ITV Outsiders on Tuesday 📅

Billesdon Brook wins the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket

Newmarket‘s Craven Meeting takes place this week. The three-day meeting indicates that the Flat season is beginning to heat up. ITV are televising four races on Tuesday and this gives us some rare mid-week action to sink our teeth into. We’ve selected some outsiders at decent prices that can outrun their odds. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.

2.25 Newmarket

Vafortino (14-1, bet365) put in a decent effort on seasonal reappearance at Kempton last time out. Finishing third, he should improve for the run and be a bit sharper this time around. He won some decent races at Ascot and Goodwood last year, including the Victoria Cup. This gelding won with Benoit De La Sayette on board at Goodwood in September and the very useful 3lb claimer maintains the partnership here.

3.00 Newmarket

Bopedro (20-1, bet365) spent his first season with David O’Meara struggling with his mark. He arrived from Ireland with a three-figure rating and the handicapper is beginning to relent. This could be his year, as he descends to a competitive mark. It’s likely that he’ll improve for his latest run at Doncaster and he’s got every chance here if doing so.

3.35 Newmarket

Epic Poet (14-1, William Hill) has some very interesting French form and makes his debut for Freddie and Martyn Meade. It’s always hard to know what to expect from a French recruit making their British debut but he placed in a Group 3 for Jean-Claude Rouget and he could surprise a few here. Tom Marquand is certainly an interesting jockey booking and that could be a sign of confidence.
