‘These two clean up here’ – Nicholls and Cobden aim one dart at Wincanton 🎯

Paul Nicholls often targets Wincanton as it’s his local track. The champion trainer has 13 winners here already this season, which is nine more than the next trainer on the list. Harry Cobden is top jockey here for the current campaign with seven winners. On this evidence, it’s fair to say that these two clean up at the Somerset track.

Their individual strike-rates are 33 and 37 per cent respectively. These look very healthy and it bodes well for their sole representative on Monday. It’s unusual for the Nicholls to have just the one runner at his local track so this could be significant. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.

2.00 Wincanton

Silent Revolution has been a little disappointing so far this season and things haven’t really gone to plan. This bumper winner scored on hurdles debut at Newbury in a decent race, back in November 2021. He then wasn’t seen again until the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle, where it was all a bit much for him and he pulled up. The fact that he even ran in that race suggests he was held in high regard.

The gelding then got back on track when winning a novice hurdle under a penalty at Chepstow a month after. Connections sent him chasing the following October and that experiment was immediately shelved as he didn’t jump well at all. Pulling up and finishing fourth in two hurdles starts since, he’s beginning to slide down the weights. A 3lb drop for finishing fourth last time out should put him right in this.

This looks like a good chance to return to winning ways and get his career back on track, and he’s a decent price to do so. You won’t find my Paul Nicholls runners at Wincanton that are available at decent prices. The Ditcheat duo could be well placed to strike again at their second home.
