‘There’s loads to come’ – 18-1, 18-1 and 12-1 Cheltenham outsiders on Thursday 👊

There’s a very competitive seven-race card at Cheltenham on Thursday. It’s a chance for the mares to take centre stage. With competitive racing and decent prize money, you get plenty of runners. This creates plenty of each-way opportunities to get involved with. We’ve selected three outsiders who could outrun their substantial prices. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.

1.30 Cheltenham

Galice Macalo (18-1, Boylesports) hasn’t had the most consistent of seasons, which is in line with the form of the yard throughout the campaign. She was an impressive winner at Chepstow in January and that victory made her shoot up the handicap to a mark of 131. Her fourth behind Epatante in a Grade 2 at Doncaster was certainly no disgrace either. Jane Williams’ seven-year-old has been poor in her two most recent starts but her rating has been reduced to 127 as a consequence. If she can settle here, there’s every chance she’ll get the trip and run a big race in the process.

2.40 Cheltenham

I Spy A Diva (12-1, William Hill) began the season with three consecutive victories, including a wide margin win against her own sex at Ludlow on seasonal debut in October. It was a disappointing effort at Kempton over three miles last time out but the drop back to an extended 2m4f here may well suit. She’s much better than that effort suggests and there should be loads more to come.

3.15 Cheltenham

Emmpressive Lady (18-1, William Hill) doesn’t have the best completion rate recently, having pulled up on two of her last three starts. Wedged between those two efforts was a relentless win at Bangor, where she beat one other finisher by a huge margin. Displaying plenty of stamina that day, this extended 3m1f should be no problem. This mare has plenty of ability and if returning to that level of form here, she should be there or thereabouts at a big price.
