The Cheltenham Festival is every racing fan’s main focus at the moment, especially as it kicks off on Tuesday, but we have some excellent action live on ITV to look forward to beforehand. Sandown and Wolverhampton host seven ITV races between them and it’s going to be a cracking day.
We’ve picked out four horses on Saturday who may have been unfairly overlooked in the betting and could be capable of outrunning their significant odds.
These include a 40/1 shot in Sandown’s Listed bumper and an unexposed 25/1 selection in the £100,000 Imperial Cup. Take a look at our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.
Jury’s In (18/1, bet365) hasn’t been particularly well treated by the handicapper but he has improved with every run over hurdles so far. Stuart Edmunds’ six-year-old could hardly have been more impressive at Plumpton last time out and handicaps could unlock more improvement.
Gooloogong (25/1, bet365) remains very lightly raced over hurdles and only made his handicap debut at Kempton when last seen, so there’s potentially loads more to come. George Baker’s gelding was a very impressive winner that day and he looks more than ready for a step up in grade on that evidence.
High On Hope (25/1, bet365) got 2026 off to the perfect start when winning a couple of Class 4 races at Chelmsford and Kempton respectively. He was much better in Class 2 company at Lingfield than his finishing positions suggests and should be more competitive than the market anticipates.
Joan’s Choice (40/1, bet365) is more than three times the price of Western Charm, despite beating her by 15 lengths when scoring at Plumpton in December. Neil Mulholland’s mare is progressing nicely and the six-year-old’s chances are better than her current price suggests.
