‘The race is at his mercy’ – Two horses who will adore heavy ground at Bangor ☔ 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

The going on the chase course at Bangor is currently heavy and although the track is in fantastic condition at present, it is going to be a slog for many horses there on Thursday. With that in mind, it is important to weed out horses who have good form in the mud. We have picked out two horses who ought to appreciate the conditions on the day.

1.30 Bangor

Ring The Moon is the only horse in the field who truly loves heavy ground so that is the main box ticked. Evan Williams’ charge was in the process of running a huge race at Ffos Las last week when he had a crashing fall three from home. It may be a bit of a surprise that he is out just eight days after a bad fall, and he also got a kicking on the ground after that. He must have come out of the race well or they wouldn’t be running him. Racing from an unchanged mark in what looks like a weaker race, he has to have a favourite’s chance. The race is at his mercy.

2.00 Bangor

Rebecca Curtis loves a winner in Wales and Joueur Bresilien could provide her with just that. The 10-year-old had his comeback run at Chepstow in December but the good-to-soft ground was an inadequate test for him. It was no shock to see him beaten 54 lengths on the day but we should see a much better performance now back on heavy ground. This boy loves the mud and he also drops down in class from a 3lb lower mark. If he’s fit, he is a massive player at what should be decent odds.
