There are six races from Newmarket and York live on ITV on Friday and several opportunities for an each-way play. We’ve selected four outsiders who are available at substantial prices and can outrun those odds. Theses include a lightly raced Irish raider in the big race of the day who’s as big as 28/1. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.
Fortamour (20/1, bet365) is getting on a bit but he’s been very consistent in three starts this season. Ben Haslam’s gelding was beaten less than a length when second off this mark at Ripon on his penultimate start and a similar effort should put him bang in the mix. The trip shouldn’t be an issue as he won easily over a stiff 7f at Newcastle in the past.
Rage Of Bamby (18/1, bet365) has failed to fire in two starts so far this season but she’s capable of much better. Eve Johnson Houghton’s five-year-old won a Listed race at Newmarket on her final start of last season and a reproduction of that form would surely give her every chance.
Liari (20/1, bet365) was a useful juvenile hurdler for Paul Nicholls and he won impressively on the Rowley Mile on stable debut in May. The marathon trip proved to be too far for him at Royal Ascot last time out and the return to 1m6f is a big plus. He remains lightly raced in this sphere.
Atsila (28/1, bet365) finished ahead of January in the Irish 1000 Guineas and the price difference between the two is ridiculous with that in mind. That was just the third start of her career and she was entitled to learn plenty from it. It’s significant that she beat Coronation Stakes winner Cercene at the Curragh in May and there could be more to come.
