We have a competitive card at Redcar Racecourse to look forward to on Tuesday but soft ground horses will come to the fore. It’s important to look for horses who have form in the mud but we have done all the hard work for you. Let’s take a look at the three horses who could go well on the ground on Tuesday.
Juryman is likely to be a big enough price for the opening mile handicap, but the Jacqueline Coward runner could be a spot of value on ground he is sure to enjoy. The son of Recorder won a handicap at Doncaster on heavy ground off a mark of 65 in April of last year and is now 5lb lower in the weights. He ran a better race that his finishing position would suggest when seventh at Doncaster on debut for this yard and should come on for it.
Trainer Tim Easterby is no stranger to success around here and Chatty is a likely type on handicap debut over 7f. The son of Ulyssess didn’t go unbacked when running a disappointing race here over 6f on debut, but he ran a huge race on soft ground in third at Beverley on his second start. He ran a poor race at Newcastle when last seen but could be a different proposition on handicap debut back on grass.
Filibustering is another horse who hails from the Easterby yard and he has a good chance too. The son of Postponed ran a career best when second to the progressive The Crafty Mole on soft ground at Wetherby over 1m6f in April.
