Pat Healy has got the chequebook out to get Frankie Dettori over to the Listowel Festival next month so it shows that he is still a hot ticket anywhere he goes. With that in mind, Dettori has three rides at Newcastle Racecourse on Thursday at the Racing League meeting live on ITV4 Racing. You can back the treble using the readymade bet slips provided. Best of luck if you have a play.
Postmark arrives here bidding for a hat trick of victories for trainer Milton Harris after successes at Ffos Las and Lingfield. The son of Postponed won on stable debut at the latter track under Dettori and won with absolute ease too. He is 7lb higher in the weights for that success but we still haven’t got to the bottom of him and he commands plenty of respect.
Dettori’s second ride of the night is aboard the Harry & Roger Charlton runner Zaman Jemil, who was an unlucky loser at Pontefract when last seen. The juvenile stepped up on an eyecatching run at Doncaster when just failing at the Yorkshire track earlier this month. This stiffer straight track should play to his strengths in a bigger field.
The last of Dettori’s rides comes in the finale aboard the consistent David Evans trained horse, Cuban Breeze. This girl has won five times from her last 14 starts and arrives here in tip top shape off the back of a solid fourth of 17 in a valuable York handicap. This is a step down in grade and she is entitled to plenty of respect for a yard in form.
