Glorious Goodwood kicks off on Tuesday and it’s a special one this year, as it’s set to be Frankie Dettori’s last ever before he retires. Dettori has an interesting book of rides on Day 1, which includes the Ascot Gold Cup winner. It’s sure to be an emotional time for the legendary jockey and he’ll want to get off to a flyer. With this in mind, we’ve combined his four rides on Tuesday into a Lucky 15. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.
Golden Mind (5-1, bet365) improved from his debut to get off the mark at Leicester on his penultimate start. He was then thrown into the deep end in the Chesham Stakes last time out and ran a cracker to finish third. Beaten by under a length that day, he has more than earned his spot here. This looks like an open renewal and further improvement could put him right in the mix.
Kinross (6-4, bet365) and Frankie Dettori get on well and the pair have won four times together. This includes two Group 1 victories at the backend of last year. It was much better from Kinross at Newmarket last time out and the return to 7f is likely to suit. He has the best form in the book and could return to winning ways here.
Courage Mon Ami (5-2, William Hill) won the Gold Cup at Ascot last time on just his fourth career start. That was a massive performance and if he turns up in similar form here, should prove very difficult to beat. He’s still thoroughly unexposed and there could be plenty more to come.
Bridestones (11-1, bet365) wasn’t beaten far when finishing third in a Listed race at Sandown last time out. The return to handicap company should suit and she’s likely to be competitive off this mark, on the evidence of that effort. It’s rather poetic that Dettori is set to wear the blue Godolphin silks once again and this hugely unexposed filly has every chance.
