Billy Loughnane is setting the world alight at the moment. Loughnane, a 16-year-old apprentice jockey, has been banging in the winners recently, including a treble on Monday. The boy’s on fire right now and may be taking a break soon to protect his claim for the turf season. With that in mind, he’ll be looking to make hay whilst the sun shines. We’ve combined his three rides at Newcastle on Friday into a 509-1 treble. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.
Glorious Angel (2-1, bet365) is seeking a hat-trick after back-to-back wins at Southwell over 6f and 7f. The drop back to 5f is interesting as she hasn’t attempted this trip since July. Her jockey’s 7lb claim will be vital under this 12lb double penalty and he could prove to be the difference.
Motawaazy (16-1, bet365) was disappointing over 6f last time out. On that evidence, the return to 5f should suit. Michael Dods’ gelding scored over course and distance three starts ago, off a 4lb lower mark. Billy Loughnane’s 7lb claim should be a massive help here, meaning the horse effectively races off a mark of 69.
King Of Speed (9-1, bet365) hasn’t won since since may, when scoring at Redcar in May 2021 on just his second start. However, he put in a fine effort at Yarmouth in July when second off a mark of 71. There have been signs recently that he’s potentially ready to win again, such as a two-and-a-half-length defeat at Southwell in December off a 3lb higher rating. Down to just 62 now and this looks like a nice mark.
