Let’s take a look at the runners and odds for the 2023 renewal below with a free horse racing tip provided too!

1 Auguste Rodin
Bred to get much further than this but he still might have the class to do it.

Trainer: Aidan O’Brien
Jockey: Ryan Moore

2 Chaldean
Dettori unseated at the gates on reappearance but he was a classy two-year-old and should stay a mile.

Trainer: Andrew Balding
Jockey: Frankie Dettori

3 Charyn
Ran well on soft ground at Newbury over 7f but has to improve a lot to get involved here.

Trainer: Roger Varian
Jockey: Tom Marquand

4 Dubai Mile
Gutsy when winning narrowly in a Group 1 at Saint-Cloud in October but ground might be against him here.

Trainer: Charlie Johnston
Jockey: Danny Muscutt

5 Flight Plan
Decent yardstick but needs massive improvement in the locker to play a part in this.

Trainer: Karl Burke
Jockey: Danny Tudhope

6 Galeron
Finished third at Newcastle over 1m on the all-weather in April, but was behind Flight Plan.

Trainer: Charlie Hills
Jockey: Kieran Shoemark

7 Hi Royal
Eyecatching jockey booking but he is nowhere near good enough to win this judged by the form book.

Trainer: Kevin Ryan
Jockey: Oisin Murphy

8 Holloway Boy
Ran well behind Auguste Rodin in the Futurity at Doncaster, definitely has a place squeak.

Trainer: Karl Burke
Jockey: Christophe Soumillon

9 Indestructible
Won the Craven over course and distance, and will like fast ground. This much tougher though.

Trainer: Karl Burke
Jockey: Kevin Stott

10 Little Big Bear
Irish 6f Group 1 winner on final run last season. Hugely exciting horse but might struggle to see out the mile.

Trainer: Aidan O’Brien
Jockey: Wayne Lordan

11 Noble Style
Classy horse over sprint trips but stamina is far from assured here.

Trainer: Charlie Appleby
Jockey: James Doyle

12 Royal Scotsman
Finished off his race fast when beaten a head by Chaldean in the Group 1 Dewhurst here. Chance.

Trainer: Paul and Oliver Cole
Jockey: Jim Crowley

13 Sakheer
Impressive over 6f as a two-year-old but is another with question marks over the trip.

Trainer: Roger Varian
Jockey: David Egan

14 Silver Knott
Wouldn’t have the same profile of some of these but he’s a tough horse and does stay a mile.

Trainer: Charlie Appleby
Jockey: William Buick

Verdict

Auguste Rodin is all class and should be able to land this before his tilt at the Derby. Holloway Boy can chase him home at a big price.
