It’s another day of great action on ITV and Adrian Wall is back with his weekly feast of outsiders. He has picked out three horses who should outrun their large odds on Saturday. Adrian is in cracking form and had provided followers with 22/1 & 14/1 winners recently.
Berkshire Whisper (12/1) might offer some each-way value against our Nap of the Day, Ides Of March. The son of Dark Angel has won three of his four career starts thus far, albeit all on the all-weather, but it was a very striking performance when landing a 14-runner handicap at Newcastle over 6f last month. He’s from a shrewd stable and with Oisin Murphy booked, he might hit the places.
Circus Of Rome (14/1) has improved steadily with racing for trainer Richard Hughes. Runner-up two times as a 2yo, he did all the hard work from the front when winning on return at Wolverhampton over the extended 1m1f in March and didn’t fare badly on handicap debut when sixth of 12 at Sandown upped to 1m4f. That form has been boosted and he was hampered on the day so there’s scope for improvement.
It’s quite a surprise to see Lead Artist (18/1) trading at such a nice price in the Lockinge. Granted, the son of Dubawi did finish last of eight runners on his return in the bet365 Mile at Sandown last month, but he was clearly amiss on the day and hung badly to his right under pressure. He won the Thoroughbred Stakes at Goodwood and the Darley Stakes at Newmarket last year and it’s far too early to be writing him off.
