It’s been a busy week for the ITV cameras and they will be back out on Friday, covering six races from York and Newbury. There’s some fascinating big field action on offer and that means plenty of each-way opportunities. We’ve got you covered with three outsiders at substantial prices that are capable of surprising a few. These include a whopping 50/1 shot at York that could be very well handicapped. Invincible Annice (20/1, bet365) finished second on her debut at Pontefract and the form of that race has received a boost since as the winner only just failed to follow up under a penalty here on Wednesday. She was plenty green enough that day and will have learnt plenty from the experience. Significant improvement is required but there should be loads to come.
Sweet Reward (14/1, Paddy Power) tends to run his race here more often than not and he was a good second over course and distance on seasonal debut. It was a bit of an underwhelming effort when last seen but he had traffic problems and you can probably forgive him for that. Jonathan Portman’s seven-year-old bolted up off a 6lb lower mark at Goodwood in the summer and should therefore be competitive off this sort of rating.
Kitsune Power (50/1, bet365) had a terrible campaign last term, which resulted in a dramatic reduction of his handicap mark. He has since joined Tim Easterby’s yard and he absolutely detested the heavy ground at Ripon on stable debut. The five-year-old races off a mark of 79 here, which is 12lb lower than his last winning one. Likely to improve for the run and for the better ground, surely he’s worth a play at huge odds.
