Sunday Outsiders: Red-hot Joseph O’Brien to have a superb day at the Curragh

Joseph O'Brien celebrates winning the Irish Gold Cup with Edwulf

Adrian Wall is back with his weekly feast of outsiders and he has picked out three horses who should outrun their large odds on Sunday. He is in red hot form with 40-1, 20-1 and 14-1 winners last month and he is confident that he can find the winner’s enclosure again soon. Best of luck if you have a play and remember, always bet responsibly.

3.40 Curragh

Basil Martini is yet to win in four starts but has shown enough to suggest she can get involved in the finish. She was second to Shelton over course and distance in August, and she got ran out of it by a flared nostril at Punchestown the first time she tackled ground with a bit of cut in it. She could improve if the showers continue to fall.

4.15 Curragh

Cleveland is a son of Camelot who won his maiden around here and he showed real class to win the Chester Cup from what looked like an impossible position in May. He then finished second at Ascot before again taking the same runner up spot in a Group 3 at Leopardstown in August and despite a big weight he demands respect.

5.20 Curragh

Likely to open a very big price, Xchanger ran a very big race last time out considering he went off a 200-1 shot. Trained by in form Natalia Lupini, this gelding was up with the pace early and although he was well beaten off for a finish, he did finish seventh of the 23 runners. That was just his second career start and it would be no surprise if he built on that promise now.
