There’s a very competitive card at the Curragh on Sunday, which includes a Group 2 and a Group 3. As is usually the case in Ireland, there are lots of runners which creates plenty of each-way opportunities. With this in mind, we’ve selected three outsiders at substantial prices which can outrun their odds. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.
Montesilvano (33-1, bet365) has been off the track for a fair while so he’ll need to be pretty sharp for this test. There were plenty of positive signs during his two-year-old campaign that suggest he could be a smart performer. He finished third behind a Charlie Appleby horse in a French Group 3 when last seen and the winner bolted up in a Grade 1 in Canada on its next start. We’re yet to see the best of this horse and it would be no surprise if he was to outrun his price, despite a lengthy absence.
Keep In Touch (12-1, William Hill) had some smart form over 7f and a mile as a two-year-old last year. She was a close second to Caernarfon in a Newmarket Listed race and that horse went on to finish third in the Oaks. Her fourth in a Group 3 over 1m2f last time out was a solid enough effort and if the drop down to 1m1f suits, she could easily make the frame. Dermot Weld is a patient trainer and it’s likely that the best is yet to come.
Sosallycanwait (14-1, bet365) ran a really solid race when third at Navan last time out. The four-year-old filly runs from 3lb out of the handicap here but Danny Sheehy’s claim offsets that particular problem. She’s yet to win a race but hasn’t been beaten by much in her last few starts and this could be the day she deservedly gets her head in front.
