1.35 Ascot

Michaela’s Boy was just edged out of things in the very closing strides when narrowly denied in the Rockingham Handicap at the Curragh in July, and a repeat of that run could be more than enough to get his head back in front at Ascot. The son of Ribchester ran a very respectable race on his penultimate start here when eighth of 26 in the Holyrood Stakes and he has to enter calculations.

2.45 Ascot

The top weight Max Mayhem might have to concede plenty of weight all round in this 1m4f handicap but he is the class act in the race and he can shine. His seasonal reappearance was also his debut for this yard when winning at Kempton over 1m3f in April and he has run well in a pair of course and distance handicaps since.

3.20 Ascot

Fox Tal is a quirky horse to say the very least but if he can put his best foot forward, he looks too far big a price in this. He has had a further spell on the sidelines so fitness must be taken on trust, but he was third in a Qatari Group 1 on his penultimate start and was only beat three lengths in an Ascot Champion Stakes in the past. He shouldn’t be underestimated for a yard that know the time of day.
