‘She looks overpriced on her return’ – Saturday ITV outsiders at Haydock

Haydock - Pea Shooter

Adrian Wall is back with his weekly feast of ITV Racing outsiders and he has picked out three horses who should outrun their large odds on Saturday. Make sure you check out our free horse racing tips for the weekend, and remember, always bet responsibly.

1.15 Haydock

Trainer John Butler wouldn’t be renowned for sending out a debut winner but Yokohama was a rare commodity when doing just that for the yard in a Newcastle maiden last September. He was strong enough in the betting too and this is a promising young horse, whose poor run at Newmarket on handicap debut can be forgiven on ground probably quicker than ideal. He’s worth anther chance and has very low miles on the clock.

1.50 Haydock

Andrew Balding’s Flora Of Bermuda has plenty to find with some of these, but she looks overpriced on her return nonetheless. Sent off favourite for a Group 3 at Newmarket when last seen in October when finishing fourth, if she could reproduce her effort on her penultimate start when second to Big Evs, she would be a big player in this. Big Evs went on to win at the highest level at the Breeders’ Cup and won on his return to action last week too.

2.25 Haydock

He is a longshot but Alaskan Gold has the ability to hit the frame at a big price for trainer Karl Burke. He wasn’t seen to best effect in two starts this year on quicker ground but the return to a softer surface will suit this lad, who was second to Ballymount Boy in Listed company at Doncaster last year.
