Course form can be absolutely crucial when looking for a winner. If you know your way around a place, you are going to have an advantage over somebody who has never been there before. The same applies to horses – knowing your way around a venue is always a big advantage. Adrian Wall has picked out three former course winners at Naas and Worcester to follow, all running on Wednesday.
Calvic won a 2m4f handicap chase around here last June and could be primed for a return to form now. He is now 6lb lower in the weights and this is just his second start after having a wind operation. He disappointed at Huntingdon last month but now first-time blinkers are added to a tongue-tie which could bring on improvement. He’s certainly well treated now if he can find anywhere close to his best form again.
Revoke will take her chance in the 6f rated race at Naas and the daughter of Blue Point has big claims if she can shrug off a below-par effort in Listed grade at Cork on her return to action last month. She was the stable’s and owner’s second string on the day as Colin Keane was aboard Babouche, but Keane is back aboard now and she bolted up over this track and trip on debut.
Keane, Lyons and Juddmonte can strike again in the following 1m2f Group 3 contest with the unbeaten Faiyum. The form of her maiden win around here has worked out well and she followed up nicely at Listowel. She could be anything and commands respect.
