Saturday’s TV Tips: 3 likely winners including an Irish raider at Newmarket

1.50 Newmarket

Andrew Balding’s MASEKELA can take the first of three top-flight juvenile races on Newmarket’s card. He only just failed to match subsequent Group 1 winner Native Trail in the 7f Superlative Stakes at the July Meeting and showed a willing attitude to deny recent Champagne Stakes hero Bayside Boy when landing a Newbury Listed race last month. That form is arguably the best on offer here and he promises to enjoy this step up in trip. Big player in this race.

2.05 Haydock

NOBLE DYNASTY made a successful start to his handicap career at Thirsk recently and he can strike again. Charlie Appleby’s colt was given plenty of time off after chasing home the impressive winner Mutasaabeq at Newmarket in April and he made a successful comeback three weeks ago, doing just enough to get the better of a three-way photo against A Boy Named Ivy and Far Hope. He only went up 2lb for that and is bred to be significantly better than this grade.

2.25 Newmarket

There is a strong Irish raiding party in the Cheveley Park Stakes with SACRED BRIDGE fancied to take the prize back to the Emerald Isle. Ger Lyons’ filly is unbeaten at home, getting better with practice and showing plenty of speed when completing the four-timer in a Group 3 at the Curragh last time out. Her trainer doesn’t venture to England very often so it looks significant that he mentioned this as a likely target in the aftermath of that latest success.
