2.20 Haydock Park

Post Impressionist won his maiden at Ayr in good style back in May over a mile on a sound surface, but he has proved to be rather disappointing in handicap company since. A beaten favourite in a valuable Ascot handicap and a beaten favourite then at Chester, his attitude could be questioned but he ran well at Beverley latest and this stiffer track should suit off 2lb lower up in trip.

2.40 Kempton Park

On A Session won at Musselburgh over 7f on fast ground in June before going over to have a tilt at Galway again, where he finished a solid second in the Ahonoora on soft ground. Didn’t have the best of draws at Chester latest but is a contender here despite carrying top weight.

3.10 Ascot

A former Group 2 winner and handicap winner off a mark of 107 in the past when beating subsequent Group 1 winner Naval Crown on the day, Tactical has to be of huge interest here off a falling mark. He has been running well in big handicaps this year and now down to a mark of 103 with the first time tongue strap being applied, Ryan Moore might well be able to guide this talented yet quirky individual to the winner’s enclosure again for the Queen.
