Saturday ITV Outsiders: Richard Hannon runner can go close at huge odds

1.45 Newmarket

It’s a huge weekend for Richard Hannon who also saddles Rosallion and Haatem in the 2,ooo Guineas later on the card, but he has a outside chance in this handicap with WALLOP. This horse was third behind the reopposing Noble Style at this track on his debut and won a 6f Kempton novice last year. He needed the run when down the field over track and trip last time and much better can be expected now.

2.20 Newmarket

David Evan’s KING’S CODE was disappointing at Newcastle on Good Friday, but the first time visor here might bring out plenty of improvement. He might be a better horse on an artificial surface, but he has won on turf three times and he has a hugely consistent profile if you forgive his latest run. He has proved he can run well off his current rating and at huge odds, he might have a better chance than his price would suggest.

3.35 Newmarket

If there is a horse in the 2,000 Guineas who can upset the favourite City Of Troy, then it might be GHOSTWRITER. It’s hard to knock a horse who has never been beaten, and this lad was very impressive during his juvenile campaign, landing the Royal Lodge over course and distance to give him crucial course experience. He looks sure to be in the mix.
