Safer Gambling Week & Betting Responsibly : 17th to 23rd October

SGW 22

We are nearly at the end of Safer Gambling Week in 2022. Led by the gambling industry, this campaign aims to help normalise conversations with customers, staff and the wider public about safer gambling.

MyRacing is in total support of Safer Gambling Week. Over all our social media, we’ll be helping the initiative by sharing information on how you can gamble responsibly. You can also find our Responsible Gambling page on site.

What’s The Main Aim Of Safer Gambling Week?

Safer Gambling Week aims to normalise the difficult conversation of safer gambling within the betting industry. Although gambling can be a fun pastime for many, it’s also very easy to let it become far more than that. There are three main aims of safer gambling week:

  • Drive awareness of how to gamble safely
  • Show the tools that are available to help people gamble safely
  • Provide sources of advice and support

What Goes On During Safer Gambling Week?

Throughout the year, venues and websites, including our own, will provide information regarding safer gambling. During this week-long initiative, however, that information will be far more visible.

Make sure you’re following @SGWeek, who will be providing plenty of crucial safer gambling material.

All the key information has been made available to all supporting venues and websites, including MyRacing, and aim to highlight these key points:

  • Ask questions about gambling behaviour
  • Highlight the five key behaviours of safer gambling
  • Provide the details of where and how to obtain further information and help if needed
  • Promote the Safer Gambling Week website and social media channels: Facebook, Twitter and Instagram all @SGWeek
